It has been some time since there were any significant announcements from the Damned Things, and at present, it seems that the supergroup is not gearing up for a major comeback. Nevertheless, a recent unexpected surge of digital activity has caught the attention of their fanbase.

On Friday, December 19, the song “Trophy Widow” by The Damned Things was released on digital streaming platforms for the first time. In addition to this, a limited-edition 7″ vinyl was made available through the official website of guitarist and vocalist Joe Trohman.

This vinyl edition is limited to just 250 copies and includes an intriguing detail: the B-side is marked as “file Missing.” There have been no further clarifications regarding whether this track features new content or if it simply serves as a placeholder title.

“Trophy Widow” isn’t entirely fresh; it originally appeared in 2011 as part of the soundtrack for the video game Batman: Arkham City. This compilation showcased exclusive tracks from various artists includingDaughtry,††† (Crosses), among others. Until now,this track had not been widely accessible on streaming platforms,making its sudden release particularly noteworthy.

Despite this resurgence in availability, there are no indications that the Damned Things are actively working on new music or planning a full-scale return. withAnthrax preparing for an album cycle set to launch in 2026 and vocalistKeith Buckley‘s current focus on his projectManny Eyes, it seems this release is more about reintroducing archival material rather than signaling any renewed activity.
