The fierce and dynamic metal ensemble from Chicago, Belly, is poised to enthrall fans with their new single “Oscillate.” This track is a preview of their forthcoming album, Low Demon, which is set to drop on July 18.
John Hoffman, who serves as both the drummer and vocalist for Belly, expressed his insights about the single, saying: “‘OSCILLATE’ captures a feeling of looming despair, channeling every bit of hostility and negativity into an unyielding wave of chaos that ultimately morphs into something even more unsettling. It represents an ending—a metaphor for a life steeped in animosity: your mind turns into a battlefield were you dismantle your own existence in the fight against it all, leaving you desolate and fading away in isolation.”
The creation of Low Demon took place during the winter season of 2024 at The Pit II studio in Geneva, Illinois. The mixing and mastering were skillfully executed by Will Killingsworth at Unimaginative Air Studios—renowned for collaborating with bands such as The Body, Magrudergrind, and Fugitive. The album’s photography was captured by talented artistBritt Crowe.
