Billboard has officially validated previous predictions that Sleep Token has ascended to the pinnacle of the US Billboard 200 chart this week wiht their new album, Even in Arcadia.

The band recorded an extraordinary total of 127,000 album equivalent units by merging streaming and physical sales, establishing a new record for vinyl sales among hard rock artists.

Luminate, which has been monitoring album and vinyl sales since 1991, indicates that the launch of Even In Arcadia eclipsed the former record for vinyl sales by a hard rock band in the United States with an astonishing 47,000 copies sold.This milestone was previously held by theatrical-metal outfit Ghost’s album, Skeletá, which moved 44,000 vinyl records just two weeks earlier.

additonally,billboard writer Keith Caulfield highlighted that this release also established a new benchmark for “the highest streaming week ever recorded for a hard rock album.”

This marks Sleep Token’s inaugural release under a major label; thus expectations were high. However, its mainstream success is noteworthy as it seems to connect with audiences beyond conventional metal fans while simultaneously broadening their rapidly expanding fanbase within the genre. Recognition is certainly deserved where it’s due.

Even In Arcadia has not only redefined creative limits but also broken existing records. Nonetheless of personal opinions on Sleep Token’s musical style or methodology, reaching such achievements is undeniably remarkable for an up-and-coming metal band.
