This growth comes nearly three years after Taylor initially withdrew her allegations from 2023, which accused lee of sexually assaulting her during a helicopter journey in 2003.
The foundation for Taylor’s renewed legal action is Assembly Bill 250,signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom in October 2025 adn effective as of January 1,2026. This legislation allows adult survivors of sexual assault to file civil lawsuits against their perpetrators without needing to demonstrate any cover-up or complicating circumstances—barriers that had previously obstructed her original case.
“If anyone believed my earlier withdrawal signified weakness, they greatly misjudged my determination,” statedTaylor in an interview withRolling Stone . “I retracted my previous case to support this law. Now that I have the necessary legal backing, I am seeking justice.”
The current lawsuit mirrors her initial claims closely. In the new filing, she alleges that she was coerced into taking a helicopter ride with bothLee and pilotdavid Martz in early 2003. During this flight, it is claimed thatLee groped her and attempted sexual assault whileMartz witnessed the incident. She recounts feeling traumatized and too intimidated to report what happened at the time; sadly,< strong>Martz passed away in an aircraft accident in 2015.
