In a surprising development shortly after teh proclamation of drummer Alex Bent‘s exit,Trivium has quickly unveiled his successor: Greyson Nekrutman. BentS departure marks the end of an impressive nine-year tenure that included some of the most acclaimed albums in Trivium‘s recent history.Meanwhile, Nekrutman’s arrival adds yet another exciting chapter to an already eventful year for metal drumming.
Nekrutman, celebrated for his remarkable technical prowess and infectious energy, recently teamed up with Sepultura in February 2025 after parting ways with Suicidal Tendencies.His stint with the legendary Brazilian group followed closely behindEloy Casagrande’s unexpected transition to joinSlipknot , which took place earlier that same month.
The talented drummer made his live debut with Sepultura on march 1st, quickly earning praise for his precision and intensity during performances. Now, he steps into a high-stakes role within Trivium , succeeding one of their most cherished members.
< strong>Bent , on his part, took to social media to express heartfelt sentiments about his time with the band: “I am deeply grateful for these amazing nine years spent alongside Trivium – filled with unforgettable moments, music, and friendships that I will always hold dear.
