Can you believe it? Teh legendary album by Gojira, titled From Mars to Sirius, is marking its 20th anniversary this year, evoking a sense of nostalgia for many fans. Yet, the band continues to thrive and innovate. This was evident during their recent live recording session at Silver Wire Studios, where they performed not only their classic hits but also showcased new material. The session included the following tracks:
- “Ocean Planet” – 00:00
- “From The Sky” – 06:17
- “Where dragons Dwell” – 12:12
At this year’s Bloodstock Open Air festival in the UK, drummer Mario Duplantier announced that fans can look forward to a long-anticipated new album set for release in 2026. This upcoming project will follow their previous work,Fortitude, which debuted in 2021 and has been eagerly awaited by listeners.
Duplantier shared insights with Bloodstock TV’s Oran O’Beirne, stating, “We’ve already laid down some drum, guitar, and bass tracks. It took us quite some time as we wanted to ensure everyone was on board with our vision for Gojira’s future.”
“We don’t feel any pressure,” he added. “We’re not newcomers; we’ve been part of the scene for nearly thirty years now. While we are an established band, it’s essential that we don’t become complacent—taking our time is vital to crafting something innovative and impactful.”
“For these upcoming songs,” he continued, “we dedicated significant effort into making sure everything sounds polished and powerful—and I would even say complex as well. But rest assured; it’s all coming together nicely; we’re targeting a release in 2026.”
In another interview with Le Parisien, Duplantier teased what fans might expect from their next unnamed project: “It’s almost complete! We’re revisiting those colossal guitar riffs but infusing them with a modern metal vibe,” he explained further. “There are still two tracks left to finalize. We aimed for efficiency but found ourselves overanalyzing—it’s more challenging now than it was when we were younger.”
The anticipation surrounding new music from Gojira , possibly heavier than ever before is undeniably thrilling! I’m looking forward to something akin to from Mars To Sirius 2: Brace For even More Intensity!
