Erik Wunder, the creative mind behind Cobalt and Man’s Gin, has sadly passed away at the young age of 42. His musical journey began in 2003 with Cobalt,where he not only showcased his drumming skills but also lent his voice,played bass,and guitar across the band’s remarkable discography. In addition to his contributions to cobalt, Wunder explored various musical styles with Man’s Gin, blending elements of dark Americana, folk influences, and post-rock aesthetics.

The announcement of Wunder’s death was made by Profound Lore Records, which managed both bands. Their heartfelt tribute included a quote from Ernest Hemingway: “‘The world breaks everyone, and afterward some are strong at the broken places.’ REST IN POWER Erik Wunder of Cobalt/Man’s Gin… you true outlaw.What an incredible journey it has been…”
