Slipknot is poised to embark on an exciting new chapter, with their current drummer, Eloy casagrande, playing a crucial role in this transition. In a recent discussion highlighted on Drummer’s evaluation, Casagrande shared some thrilling news about the band’s ongoing studio endeavors. Although no official tracks featuring Casagrande have been released yet, he confirmed that the songwriting process is very much alive.
“What I can tell you at this moment is that we are definitely working on new music,” said Casagrande. “Since I joined the band, we’ve been generating fresh ideas. We constantly share guitar riffs and drum patterns, ensuring there’s always something brewing.”
“Recently, we’ve had numerous jam sessions. We have accumulated quite a bit of material; now it’s just about coming together to refine everything through collaboration. This process has already started and will continue to evolve over time. New music is certainly on it’s way,” he added.
Slipknot previously teased an upcoming track titled “Long May you Die,” which was hinted at back in May 2024 shortly after Casagrande’s integration into the band. Though, this song has yet to see an official release.At that time, they indicated it was part of a writing session soon after his joining and referred to it as their “first song together.” Fans are still eagerly awaiting its debut—could this be what everyone has been anticipating?
Additionally, guitarist Jim Root has also provided insights into the musical direction Slipknot may take next. In May 2025, he mentioned having around six solid song concepts ready and expressed his desire to return to Slipknot’s earlier chaotic sound: “I want us to create an album that’s more raw; you know how it goes—I never want our band to fall into repetition.”
“However, I would love for us to revisit the unrefined energy present in our first two albums and even parts of our third record…there’s something inherently stripped down and punk rock about those early works that I feel we’ve been missing lately; it’s high time we reconnect with that essence,” he elaborated.
This indicates it’s reasonable for fans to expect new material from Slipknot by 2026—and possibly even some tracks from their unreleased project titled Locate Outside Your Window as well—though I’m not expecting its release anytime soon.
