The Connection Between Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean
Both Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean rose too prominence as part of the Odd Future collective in the early 2010s. However, during a recent interview on The New York Times’ “Popcast,” Earl openly mentioned that he and Frank have not been in contact recently. “I talk to Tyler [the Creator] more than I talk to Frank. I haven’t spoken to him in ages,” stated Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, who is currently 31 years old.
Recognizing Each Other’s Achievements
Despite their infrequent communication, there are no hard feelings between these two artists. Earl took a moment to praise ocean’s venture into jewelry design. “He’s really doing his thing,” remarked Earl about his fellow artist’s work with Homer. He expressed interest in perhaps acquiring some of Ocean’s creations: “He can drop something whenever he wants or even release a collection for everyone; I’m definitely interested.”
The Emergence of homer Jewelry Brand
Frank launched his luxury jewelry line under the name Homer back in 2018 but made headlines again when it successfully relaunched this year (2025). The brand offers an array of diamond-encrusted pieces alongside silver and gold accessories through its online store while also maintaining physical locations across major cities like New York City, London, and Los Angeles. Although his jewelry business seems to be thriving financially, fans are still eagerly awaiting new music from him since his last album release was Blonde back in 2016.
Earl Sweatshirt’s Recent Musical Projects
This past Friday (August 22), Earl released Live Laugh Worship—his first project since SICK! came out last year (2022). This new album consists of eleven tracks featuring vocals from Erykah Badu while running just under thirty minutes long overall—a concise yet impactful offering from the artist known for introspective lyrics.
The rollout strategy surrounding Live Laugh Worship was notably brief; he only announced its release date on August 20 via several meme-filled posts on Instagram.
Additionally included within this promotional campaign was an exclusive listening event held in Los Angeles—though interestingly enough; earl himself did not attend.
