this morning, Deftones shared a significant update on their social media platforms, announcing that they will not be taking the stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. The band was scheduled to perform tonight at 8:30 PM UK time.
The news was released approximately three hours ago by both Deftones and the Glastonbury Festival organizers.
Deftones expressed their sentiments in a statement:
“Regrettably, an illness within our group is preventing us from performing at Glastonbury this evening. We are heartbroken to miss out on an event we have eagerly anticipated for months. Sadly, unforeseen circumstances can disrupt our plans. We sincerely hope to return to glastonbury in the future and look forward to seeing you tomorrow at Crystal Palace.“
The response from Glastonbury was brief:
“Deftones‘ performance scheduled for 8:30 PM on the Other stage has been canceled due to illness within the band.”
Skepta, stepping in as a replacement, will take over the stage at 9 PM. He stated: ‘Let’s go!!! No crew or production needed; I’m ready to bring down Glastonbury. It’s victory lap time! Pre-Astronomical smoke 2025!’
Ezra Collective‘s set will now run from 7 PM until 8:15 PM.
We wish a speedy recovery for Deftones.
