The acclaimed Australian rock band Airbourne faced a troubling event on April 6,when their equipment storage facility in Melbourne was targeted by thieves. In an official declaration, the group disclosed that several valuable instruments were stolen, leading them to seek help from the public in recovering these prized possessions.
“Greetings everyone. It is indeed with heavy hearts that we bring you this unfortunate news. Our storage unit for Airbourne was broken into on Sunday night. The thieves made off with six guitars and other personal items. Most notably, my father’s treasured Mini Maton and his mandolin were among those taken,” they shared.
“For those familiar with both Ryan and me, you know we lost our father in 2014. Playing my dad’s old guitar allows me to reconnect with him; it feels as though a piece of him comes back whenever I play it. This connection truly helps me navigate through tough moments when I long to speak with him again. We wanted to share this facts in case anyone has seen or heard anything relevant,” they added.
“Whether it’s at pawn shops or online marketplaces like facebook Marketplace, discussions at bars or anywhere else—any tips would be immensely appreciated as we are offering a significant reward for any information that leads us back to Dad’s beloved guitar and the other instruments taken from us. Please reach out via direct message if you have any insights.” Cheers rockers xx
