in a recent interview with Steel Drummers United, Crooked shared his thoughts on leaving the renowned Florida metal band. He emphasized that this change marks not an ending but rather an exciting beginning. Reflecting on his time with Trivium, he remarked: “When I first joined [Trivium], I thought to myself, ‘Wow, another drummer? Really?'”
The Power of Friendship and Community
“The connections I forged during my tenure there have turned into lifelong friendships. I’m incredibly grateful to every fan who attended our shows and those who still reach out for lessons or request signed memorabilia,” he expressed with warmth. “I genuinely cherish it all.”
No Intentions of Slowing Down
Crooked also addressed speculation that his exit might signal a decrease in his career momentum—a notion he strongly refuted: “Nothing is finalized. I’m satisfied where I am at present but definitely eager to hit the road again soon.” He noted that many may mistakenly think he’s stepping back when that’s far from reality.

“I feel like I’m just beginning,” he stated confidently. “I want to continue collaborating with various bands; being a free agent after nearly ten years opens up countless opportunities—studio sessions, touring, teaching—I’m ready for everything!” His enthusiasm was evident as he declared: “I’m open and excited; let’s make this happen!”

“However,” he continued, “we all wish each other well moving forward.
