The crowd gathered for High Dawg Leisure’s twelfth Annual Christmas Concert and Toy Drive on Thursday (December 18) in Los Angeles experienced an unexpected festive delight. The dynamic duo of Kendrick Lamar and SZA made a surprise appearance that sent fans into a frenzy.
Amazing photos capturing their performance have emerged online, showcasing them delivering a range of hits from their extensive discography.Among these were tracks like “30 For 30” from SZA’s celebrated album, SOS Deluxe: LANA, along with “Squabble Up” from Kendrick’s GNX project. They also performed the record-breaking hit “Luther,” which significantly contributed to K. Dot being named Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artist for the year 2025.
A Harmonious Blend of Music and Community Engagement
TDE’s annual celebration artfully combines entertainment provided by its talented artists with charitable initiatives aimed at uplifting the local community through gift distributions and food drives.In addition to performances by lamar and SZA, this year’s lineup included iconic artists such as Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre, Ab-Soul, Doechii, Isaiah Rashad, Jay Rock, Ray Vaughn, Schoolboy Q among others. Kendrick Lamar: A Lasting Bond with TDE Despite Transitions
Kendrick officially parted ways with TDE Records back in 2022 after releasing his final album under their label titled Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Although he now releases music through his own pgLang project—co-founded alongside former TDE co-president Dave Free—and Interscope Records; he continues to maintain strong connections to both the label and its roster of artists.
A Meaningful Return Home for a Noble Cause
Lamar recently wrapped up his extensive “Giant National Tour,” which took him across Australia before returning home to perform for his South Los Angeles community—providing free entertainment during this festive season is truly commendable!
