In recent times, musical groups have been increasingly employing innovative strategies to build anticipation for their forthcoming releases. The trend of maintaining an air of mystery is gaining traction, with numerous artists utilizing cryptic posts on social media, subtle clues from local media outlets, and classic interview dodges to keep their audience intrigued. A notable example of this approach is the band In Flames.
Not long ago, they posted a captivating video on Instagram that featured a globe reminiscent of science fiction, adorned with coordinates and what seems to be computer code in the lower left corner. The coordinates “57º42 M Latitude” and “11º58 E Longitude” specifically point to levin Sound—a renowned post-production studio celebrated for its ability to capture “sounds, voices, and instruments,” as well as for crafting original compositions.
The day after this intriguing reveal saw another video emerge that displayed a similar graphic focused on Sweden. This time it zoomed in on Gothenburg (Göteborg), which corresponds with the location of the recording studio hinted at in their previous post.
Moreover, In Flames has been actively sharing content from an account called Göteborg Brinner, which has been distributing flyers throughout Gothenburg. These flyers appear to promote an event associated with a countdown timer leading up to what seems like november 10th.
