After receiving consent from employees to perform outside a BP gas station in Chicago, Silly Goose‘s lead singer, Jackson Foster, was arrested for an unexpected incident that occurred shortly after their set at Lollapalooza 2025 on August 2nd. This event garnered attention from various media outlets including the New York Post, Fox Records Atlanta, WSB-TV Atlanta, and NBC Chicago, among others.
Silly Goose is known for its unconventional performances—aptly reflected in their name—often taking place in parking lots and street corners. While this type of guerrilla performance isn’t new, it led to police intervention, resulting in Foster facing charges of criminal trespassing. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 2nd.
The band has taken the situation with good humor, launching a GoFundMe campaign aimed at covering Foster’s bail and securing legal assistance that could help them avoid a conviction which might hinder their plans for an international tour later this fall.
Along with fundraising efforts, they have designed merchandise featuring the slogan ‘Free Silly Goose‘ along with Foster’s black-and-white mugshot on the front. The image captures him smiling slightly—a rather amusing touch given the circumstances.
This t-shirt was unveiled just four days ago thru a slideshow shared on the band’s Instagram account, showcasing a screenshot of Foster’s colorful mugshot alongside the caption: ”The moment we’ve all been waiting for. Limited quantity.”
The final slide of this presentation reads:

A couple of days later, they revealed details about their upcoming “Free Silly Goose” Tour set for December with five shows leading up to Christmas. The promotional graphic features an illustration of a goose next to a BP gas station alongside a police car parked at one of the pumps.
