The iconic Norwegian black metal band Mayhem is actively engaged in the creation of their next album, following the release of their 2019 work, Daemon. While details remain limited, guitarist Teloch has confirmed that they are deep into the writing and pre-production phases.
Teloch, a pivotal figure in shaping the band’s artistic direction over the past decade, recently shared an insightful update via social media: “The reason for my absence here thes past few months: I’m focused on new material for Mayhem. My mind is overloaded. Guitars, bass lines, drum patterns, vocal arrangements—its all consuming.”

In 2021, they put out the EP titled Atavistic Shaded Disorder / Kommando, which featured a blend of previously unreleased tracks from the sessions of *Daemon* alongside punk covers from influential bands like Discharge,Ineffective Kennedys , andThe Ramones.
This year saw them release a live album called Daemonic Rites ,showcasing performances from their tours between 2019 and 2022. This compilation includes both tracks from *Daemon* and also fan-favorite classics from their extensive discography. Looking ahead, they have several shows lined up for August:
- August 2: Vagos Metal Fest – Vagos, Portugal
- August 8: Brutal Assault – Jaroměř, Czech Republic
- August 10: Progresja – Warsaw, Poland
