Devastating Event Involving Brent Hinds

The tragic end of Brent Hinds, the former guitarist of the band Mastodon, has been documented in police reports and 911 call recordings released by the Atlanta Police Department.

Accident Overview

On the evening of August 20th, a police report indicates that Hinds was riding his Harley-Davidson when a vehicle allegedly disregarded a red light while making a left turn, resulting in a collision. The driver insisted to officers that she was “certain the light was green,” but this claim was disputed by another witness who stated that the traffic signal appeared to be red at that moment. Although this witness attempted to minimize their observation by suggesting Hinds might have been speeding, it did not change the fact that the driver failed to yield and lacked right-of-way.

Response from Emergency Services

emergency responders arrived on scene around 11:35 PM after receiving an alert from an individual who witnessed the accident from two vehicles back. This witness recounted how forceful impact sent Hinds airborne before he crashed onto the pavement.

Upon their arrival, emergency personnel discovered Hinds “breathing and moving” but with visible injuries affecting his head, arms, and torso. Tragically, he later passed away at a nearby hospital after receiving treatment for injuries sustained during this unfortunate incident.

A grieving Community

A recent report from last week by Atlanta News Frist, confirmed that an SUV driver had failed to yield while turning left and collided with a motorcyclist on August 20th; it has as been established that this motorcyclist was indeed Brent Hinds. Mastodon publicly mourned his loss on August 21st.

No Charges Filed Yet

Currently, ther is no details regarding whether charges such as vehicular manslaughter will be pursued against the involved driver. However, plans are being made for a memorial service in honor of Brent’s life in Atlanta at an upcoming date.
